Return to Simplicity: Bauhaus-inspired Art and Design Exhibition

Location: Colorado Mountain College - Aspen Campus Times: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Colorado Mountain College Aspen is joining the yearlong celebration of the founding of the Bauhaus movement with an art opening and gallery talk on June 13. Forty local artists are part of “Return to Simplicity – Bauhaus inspired art + design.”

The celebration is particularly personal to longtime local Dick Carter, one of the artists featured at CMC’s exhibit. In 1972, Carter was 26 and an assistant to Bauhaus pioneer Herbert Bayer in his Aspen studio. Attached is an image of his piece titled “Big Red X Mandala.”

The exhibit showcases the influence of Bauhaus on artists who call Aspen and the Roaring Fork Valley home.
