The Roaring Fork Valley joins an international celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Bauhaus

Bauhaus Seen: Bauhaus-Inspired Furniture with Paintings by Richard Carter + Dave Durrance

Carbondale Arts Gallery will feature Brad Reed Nelson, Dick Carter and Dave Durrance in their Bauhaus exhibit. Brad Reed Nelson will host new work from academic furniture makers with a connection to the Roaring Fork Valley. Furniture makers involved in the exhibit include: Russell Baldon (CA), Vivian Beer (NH), Andy Buck (NY), Tom Loeser (WI), Wendy Maruyama (CA), Brad Reed Nelson (CO), Christopher Poehlmann (PA), Sylvie Rosenthal (WI), Jason Schneider (MI), Brent Skidmore (NC), and Mark Tan (CO).

Dick Carter will present his paintings from 1972 and 1973, created during his time as an assistant to Herbert Bayer in his Aspen studio.  Dave Durrance will show work also inspired by Herbert Bayer. Each artist will be responding to a chosen piece created from the Bauhaus movement.

Carbondale Arts Gallery is open for public viewing Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm and Saturdays from 10am to 2pm.
