StoryWalk is a fun, educational activity that places a children’s story along a popular walking route in the community. Pitkin County Library’s StoryWalk is located along the Hunter Creek extension trail and features a children’s introduction to the Bauhaus.
There are many different ways to get to the Hunter Creek trail when starting from town. We recommend: Walk along North Mill Street (toward Red Mountain) and turn left onto Puppy Smith Street. You will pass the Post Office and see the trailhead for the Rio Grande Trail. Turn right onto the trail. Walk past the Jennie Adair wetlands and over the bridge. You will see the sign for the Hunter Creek Trail on the right side of the path. Turn onto the Hunter Creek trail and after walking for a minute or two, you will see the first StoryWalk post!
